Karnataka High Court clears Kingfisher-Deccan Aviation merger

The Karnataka High Court has cleared the Kingfisher Airlines-Deccan Aviation merger, according to a spokesman for Kingfisher, a leading Indian full-service provider .

According to the company spokesman, the judge pronounced an oral order in the court on Monday, 16 June, which provided sanction to the scheme.

Deccan Aviation is in the process of merging with the unlisted Kingfisher Airlines. The merger will create one of the largest air carriers in the country and also ease the path for Kingfisher to fly overseas.

The merger process now awaits clearance from the country's Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
