Fiat, Bajaj cut auto prices

Mumbai: Carmaker Fiat India has cut prices of its flagship Palio Stile, passing on savings to its consumers that accrue from tax cuts for on small cars as announced in the national budget for 2008-09.
The three variants of Palio Stile, SL, SLE and SLX, will cost up to Rs12,000 less from 1 March 2008.
Fiat's India business partner Tata Motors had lowered prices of its popular Indica models by Rs12,000 to Rs16,000 a few days back.
Bajaj Auto has also announced a reduction in prices of motorcycles. The price of entry-level 100cc model Platina has been reduced by Rs3,000 and the prices of the Discover (125cc and 135cc), Pulsar (150cc and 180cc) and automatic scooter Krystal have been reduced by Rs1,000.
