The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has found seven ads, including Reliance Communications ad on its internet and CDMA plan, Parle Agro's LMN juice, and commercials for Volkswagen Polo, as objectionable.

This was reveled in its consumer complaints council (CCC) decision report for May-June 2010.

Amongst the seven ads the council found to be objectionable, five have been withdrawn while two have been modified.

The ads by Reliance Communications for its internet and CDMA plan, Parle Agro's LMN juice, and commercials for Volkswagen Polo have been discontinued.

Reliance Communications had claimed that internet calls between Reliance users were unlimited, but failed to mention that the plan was subject to limits. For, its CDMA talktime plan, the telecom operator had claimed to offer unlimited talktime across all networks when it was true only for Reliance to Reliance calls.

Volkswagen's commercials for its Polo brand were found to encourage violence against animals and to have violated the Performing Animals (Registration) Rules, 2001. The commercials showed the Polo taking on a rhino and herd of buffaloes in a bid to showcase its features.
