Chennai: Even as his shampoo containers do not talk about the ingredients, Cheryls Cosmetics managing director Oscar Pereira doubts competitors claims whether such products actually contain ayurvedic inputs.
Similarly, he also claims that Cheryls Cosmetics is actually a cosmoceutical (cosmetics plus pharmaceutical) company and its products are approved by the Drug Controller of India. Our products are to be used under proper guidance and hence it will be sold only through beauty parlours and skin specialists / dermatologists. Improper usage will have adverse effects on the skin.
According to him, the Rs 5-crore-turnover company will soon expand its distribution network and contact the major beauty parlours and dermatologists in India. We have around 70 products in our portfolio. Our products are designed taking into account the Indian skin and hair textures and also the climatic conditions.
In addition, the company intends to train aestheticians, skincare professionals, doctors and dermatologists on the latest beauty treatments and later open a Cheryls chain of beauty parlours.
