This will allow Data Access to transmit significant data traffic across global destinations using Telenor''s central teleport at London and IP transit facilities. Telenor UK based customers, in turn, will enjoy access to Data Access'' high-power satellite bandwidth capacity.
Both Telenor and Data Access customers will now have end-to-end network connectivity at competitive prices and exemplary quality of service (QoS). The deal will be driven by IP and data traffic, although the network is also capable of carrying video and voice.
Says Data Access founder and managing director Siddhartha Ray: "This is a win-win situation for both of us. It has always been our endeavour to provide exemplary service standards at affordable tariffs. For our own customers it means access to high quality teleport and IP transit services. We are of the firm belief this will further strengthen our position in the Indian as well as international telecom market."
Says Telenor UK managing director David Gilmore: "We are extremely glad to partner with a progressive telecom company like Data Access. Internationally all the telecom companies are looking at new revenue streams and reducing costs. The arrangement with Data Access is a welcome development as our network infrastructure complements each other and customers on both these networks will now experience cost effective superior IP, voice and data services. Telenor customers will now access a world-class fourth-generation network at a reduced bandwidth cost."
