Ford to recall 465,000 cars over a possible fuel leak problem
04 Jun 2013
US carmaker Ford Motors today said that it will recall 465,000 cars globally over a possible fuel leak problem.
The recall affects the 2013 Ford Fusion sedan, Ford Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Police Utility and Police Interceptor and the Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ.
The Detroit-based carmaker said that a fuel delivery module in the affected cars could leak and may result in a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
Ford has received 600 complaints over the problem but said that there had been no reports of any fires, accidents or injuries.
The carmaker will recal nearly 420,000 of these vehicles in the US, Mexico and Canada, while the rest are from overseas.
Ford also said that it is recalling 23 of the 2013 Ford Fusions to fix steering gears that do not have an internal retaining clip, which would increase the risk of a crash and 500 Lincoln MKZ 2013 model sedans to fix electrical cords that can crack in cold weather.
