iDLX opens shared services center in India

iDLX Technology partners pvt ltd inaugurated its first global shared services center(SSC) in Gurgaon near Delhi. Prof. MGK Menon, co-chairperson, national IT task force, inaugurated the center while Ms Carol M Kim , counsellor for commercial affairs, US embassy, was the guest of honour. Gus Blanchard, chairman, president and ceo of Deluxe corporation and Dr. Nikhil Sinha, President and CEO, iDLX, were also present.
The SSC will provide high quality IT enabled and business process outsourcing services. This is the country''s first and independent third party provider of shared services to diverse customers in the international financial sector. The SSC will have an investment of over Rs 45 crore in the next three years.
Prof. Menon said at the inaugural, "IT is a widely acknowledged core competence for India. With the application of IT moving into a greater number of sectors, the industry has received a tremendous boost. Within this wide spectrum, IT enabled services show phenomenal potential. "
Mr Blanchard said that India''s technological excellence is proven the world over and that it was only a matter of time that world class IT enabled services are sourced out of India by leading companies of the world.
Dr Sinha outlined the primary services areas of iDLX-business process outsourcing, software development and support, electronic payment services and e-commerce/internet banking.
The SSC employs 125 qualified and experienced professionals from the technical and financial sectors, which iDLX is planning to enhance to 300 by the end of the year. The key areas of focus are accounting services, call centers and operations services such as application capture, credit underwriting, charge backs and customer invoicing.
Significantly, NASSCOM estimates IT enabled services to gross about Rs.81,000 crore by 2008. Another study by Tower group of US says that US banks spent nearly $ 7 billion on outsourcing services.
