Red Hat now moves into tier 2 and 3 cities

Mumbai: Red Hat India, the leader in Linux and open source software in India has expanded its network into tier 2 and 3 towns like Guwahati and Baroda to extend the availability of its open source software, after establishing a significant presence in the tier 1 cities.

Javed Tapia, Director, Red Hat India, says "India is emerging as one of the biggest markets for Red Hat in APAC region." In India Linux adoption is gaining momentum across segments - enterprise, government and education.

Channels play a crucial role in Red Hat's business model in reaching out to end customers especially in the SME segment through the entire process of Linux adoption and implementation and provide the needed support services.

Tapia added, "Linux presents an unbeatable value proposition in terms of performance, reliability, availability, scalability and manageability at the best cost of ownership."

Since coming to India in 2000, Red Hat has a distribution network of over 50 channel partners spanning 19 cities across India and is moving into other countries in the region.
