ŠkodaAuto India registers 53-per cent sales growth in September

Mumbai: ŠkodaAuto India, a fully owned subsidiary of ŠkodaAuto a.s., Czech Republic, today announced a 53-per cent sales growth in September 2009 over September 2008.

Total sales for September 2009 stood at 1,854 units as against 1,213 in September 2008. The company's 1,854 units sold in September 2009 marked an encouraging increase on the 1,463 units sold in the month of August 2009.

The company said, "Škoda Superb, sold 257 units, had 22.6-per cent segment share in January - August 2009 as against 5.6 per cent during the same period in 2008, registering a growth of over 330 per cent in this segment.

The Škoda Octavia and the New Škoda Laura had combined sales figure of 684 units in September 2009.
