Work on transformation of Pune airport moves apace

Work on parallel taxiways, aircraft hangars, airport complex expansion and various other projects are expected to begin over the next six months. The airport is already undergoing re-carpeting, which has led to a certain amount of disruption of flying activities, both for the Indian Air Force and the civilian airliners.
The passenger lobby has already been expanded while work is scheduled to begin on the construction of hangars, parallel taxiways, an east-west expansion of the airport complex, as also a cargo complex.
After
an initial expense of Rs70 crore already made, the AAI proposes to spend an additional
RS150 crore on the remaining projects.
