Agilent Technologies, the global leader offering test and measurement solutions to the communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis market has been selected as one of the 'Most Admired Shared Services Organisation- 2003', by Shared Services News.

Agilent's Global Financial services centre is amongst the 12 companies nominated by the readers of Shared Services News and the members of the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network.

"This is a recognition of the innovative, efficient and compliant services offered by our shared services centres across the world. We have pioneered in offering services which enable businesses to focus on their objectives, thereby creating a competitive edge for Agilent Technologies," said Anita Manwani, Vice President & General Manager, Global Sourcing (GSF), Agilent Technologies Inc. "Every GFS team member has contributed significantly to the effort, and I am delighted to have Agilent recognised this year," she added.

Shared Services News, published by the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network, used a very stringent process to shortlist the list for the most admired service centres:

  • Strategic role the leader plays in determining how the Shared Services Centre (SSC) is driven and integrated through out the organisation as a whole
  • The leaders' vision for the future of the SSC
  • Innovative and successful programs initiated and driven and how results were measured
  • The contribution or the role played by the leader in the development of the fields of shared services as a whole

GFS was established when Agilent split from HP in November 1999. GFS provides value to Agilent businesses in offering service delivery, while supporting business initiatives, Enterprise Resource Planning implementations, cost-saving goals and process and organisational changes.

The GFS centre in Gurgaon is one of the two global hubs for Agilent Technologies. Agilent recently announced the launch of its second service centre in Gurgaon, which would increase its footprint in India by an additional 500 professionals. Agilent's existing centre in Gurgaon has over 700 professionals working on back-end financial processing, Intranet development, engineering support, IT support and R&D.
