Aircel Cellular expands in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: With the addition of Amaravathi, near Coimbatore to its network, mobile services provider Aircel Cellular Limited says it has expanded its network to 800 towns in Tamil Nadu.

According to KVP Baskar, chief executive officer-South, the company aims to extend coverage to 1,200 towns in Tamil Nadu during 2007.

Aircel had recently rolled out its services in Assam, North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar and Himachal Pradesh and as on date, the company is present in nine telecom circles.
