Aircel launches 4G LTE in Tamil Nadu and J&K circles

Aircel, in which Malaysian telecom major Maxis Bhd holds a majority stake, has launched 4G services across two more circles – Tamil Nadu and J&K – taking the total circles serviced to six. In July, Aircel rolled out 4G services across four circles – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha – in the country.
With this launch,Aircel becomes the only private telecom operator in Tamil Nadu and J&K to offer services under all the three existing technologies of 2G, 3G and 4G LTE
''Continuing the momentum on Aircel's recent 4G LTE roll out in four circles, we are delighted to now bring highest speed 4G LTE services to Tamil Nadu and J&K. This launch comes within a month of our recent 4G LTE deployment in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha and has strengthened our commitment to spearhead the data revolution by offering innovative products and services in this space,'' Anupam Vasudev, CEO, at Aircel said.

Aircel, which has 3G spectrum in 13 circles and BWA spectrum in eight circles, holds 20MHz spectrum in the 4G LTE 2300 MHz band across eight circles – Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and North East and Jammu and Kashmir.
Subscribers can use 4G LTE high-speed network for dedicated internet access and secure virtual private network services, whereas its home customers will experience various infotainment services on high-speed broadband that will help connect any WiFi device to support services such as faster internet access, smart TVs, virtual home solutions, home security, online gaming and much more.
