Blue Star Infotechs new centre in Bangalore

Mumbai: Blue Star Infotech (BSIL), a global provider of software solutions and consultancy, is investing Rs 50 million for setting up a new development centre in Bangalore.

This facility, located at Koramanagala in Bangalore, will have the capacity to seat 250 engineers. The centre will be fully operational by January 2003. This will be the fourth development centre for BSIL, which already has three development centres in Mumbai.

Says BSIL managing director Parmod Bhalla: The setting up of this new development centre at a cost of Rs 50 million in Bangalore is an important step for us. This is being done with the objective to meet the increasing demand for its development services from high-technology sector.

And to service this sector effectively, it is essential to tap the pool of good technical resources available in Bangalore and other southern locations, he adds. We are confident that this initiative will bring maximum returns to BSIL in near future. BSIL recently set up an offshore development centre (ODC) for IrisLogic, USA.

The ODC, with a starting capacity of 100 seats, will generate revenues exceeding $15 million in the next three years. Headquartered in the Silicon Valley, IrisLogic is an end-to-end global consulting and solutions company. Over the last couple of months, it has moved several key assignments to BSIL.

With growing interest in its offshore model, IrisLogic and BSIL have agreed to set up a dedicated ODC. IrisLogics client-list includes large corporations such as Intel, CISCO, McAfee, Schneider Logistic, Concur and Mentor Graphics.
