Mumbai:
Channel 7 to 9, the first Hindi entertainment, free-to-air
terrestrial channel outside India, recently launched the
telecast of Star Plus block buster soaps such as Kyunki
Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki
on Ajman TV in Dubai.
The
launch of the new programming follows on the heels of
an agreement with Star Plus, offering viewers popular
serials and movies with Arabic subtitles.
Addressing
the function, the channel management and a team of visiting
Indian television stars affirmed their commitment to the
region, stating that Channel 7 to 9 will be the best free-to-air
TV channel in the region, offering a diverse viewing bouquet
to multicultural audiences across the Middle East.
The
channel is also available on Nile sat and E-vision, catering
to 60-70 per cent Indian population in the Gulf and the
Middle East. Both these serials are being aired on this
channel, starting from episode No 1. The new programming
will also introduce blockbuster Indian serials Tu Tu
Mei Mei, Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and Kitchdi.
Channel
7to 9 Chairman Ajay Sethi says: "Viewers always seek
options and variety on their television screens. Our programming
has been developed to open up exciting creative opportunities
for viewers while making great business sense to advertisers
and we are delighted to be working with our sponsors,
Western Union and Al-Rawabi, to make this happen on a
terrestrial channel, which is a first for the UAE."
Sethi
says audiences across the region can expect to see and
interact with more of their favourite TV stars at future
events and road shows organised by Channel 7 to 9. Most
Indians living in the Gulf and the Middle East, leaving
behind their families in India, will get free entertainment
and feel linked with their home country memories by viewing
Indian family blockbuster soaps on the channel free of
cost.
Channel
7 to 9 is based in the Dubai Media City free zone, with
Ajay Sethi, a leading Indian businessman, as its key motivator.
