Mumbai:
Essar Oilfields Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary
of the Essar group, will set up its regional base at the
Dubai Maritime City DMC).
DMC, the world''s largest and most comprehensive maritime
complex, is strategically located to offer huge opportunities
for maritime and oilfield service companies.
Essar
Oilfields, which has interests in manufacturing, services,
oil and gas, steel, power, telecom, BPO, shipping, logistics
and construction sectors, will offer its expertise in
oilfields, drilling and rig business at the DMC.
Essar
Oilfields is currently carrying out refurbishment and
upgradation of three deep-sea rigs at Jebel Ali, a company
release said.
"We
consider Dubai Maritime City as a strategic location for
our oilfields services business covering the Middle East
and North African (MENA) as well as the Central/ South
Asian regions," Essar Oilfields Services CEO N Ramesh
said in the release.
The
drilling business in the region offers a lot of promise
considering the fact there is a gap of around 50 to 60
per cent between the availability and the requirements
in the business, Ramesh said.
"Their
(Essar Oilfields Services) professional expertise in shipping,
oilfields and drilling services will provide a major boost
to the wide gamut of services on offer at Dubai Maritime
City," said, DMC CEO Amer Ali.
Dubai
Maritime City, spread over 227 hectares of man-made peninsula
between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks, will be the world''s
biggest and most comprehensive maritime complex.
