Global E-Secure bags mega GNFC contract

Mumbai: Global E-Secure announced on Thursday that it has won an order from Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company (GNFC) to set up a project to provide digital signature certificates based on PKI technology. This is among the largest commercial certification authority orders in the world this year.

A company press release said GNFC is in the process of setting up the infrastructure to provide and manage one million certificates. It has signed an agreement for procurement of technology and the software for the purpose with Entrust Inc of USA. Critical Path, USA will provide the directory services for the same. Both companies are the world leaders in their respective fields.

Global E-Secure Ltd will be involved in the project management, including consulting and system integration for setting up certification authority and the data centre infrastructure.

GNFC is a joint sector enterprise promoted by the government of Gujarat and the Gujarat State Fertilizers Company Ltd. GNFC has extended its profile beyond fertilisers. Besides having a significant market share in the VSAT business, it is also an ''A'' category ISP and has set up a GNFC Infotower in Ahmedabad, with state-of-the-art facilities , to encourage more IT companies from Gujarat .

Global E-Secure Ltd. and GNFC will jointly develop and bring to the market, products and solutions which will help people and enterprises do the e-business transactions on the Internet - securely and with legal validity. Government, banks and financial institutions, which can be the major beneficiaries of the efficiencies provided by business-to-business as well as business-to-consumer net transactions, are going to be the key target segments.
