Mumbai: After launching the Honda CR-V and seventh generation Honda Accord, Honda Siel Cars India is strengthening its position in the luxury car segment with the launch of yet another variant of the Honda Accord, the Ultimate Accord V6. The company claims that the new variant comes with an advanced 3000 cc, V6 cylinder, SOHC VTEC engine, that will give power packed performance and fuel economy. The advanced engine technology helps in extraordinary responsive power of 221 bhp. Further, the car is equipped with highly advanced first-time features like Drive by Wire (electronic throttle control) and cruise control which give a smooth and hassle-free drive, further improved by the 5-speed automatic transmission featuring Honda's exclusive grade logic control. The traction control system provides enhanced stability and safety. The lavish and quiet interiors add further to offer the ultimate driving experience. H. Yamada, president and CEO, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd., while launching the car said, "This year, our entire team is working towards attaining leadership in the premium segment. We have already become the number one player in the D-segment, with the tremendous response received by both our D-segment offerings - Accord 2.4 L and CR-V - launched last year. We are confident that Accord V6, which promises to set new standards in the segment by delivering an unmatched driving experience, will only strengthen our lead further." Commenting on the performance of the new City, he added, "The new City is a revolutionary product at a great price. It was launched after conducting a detailed study of the needs of the Indian customer in the segment. The remarkable fuel-efficiency of the car has not only appealed to potential C-segment customers but has also attracted several B-segment customers, across the country." According to the company the Accord V6, like the Accord VTi-L, defines refined styling. The aggressive exterior design, inspired by the 'Cheetah', aims at the utmost in automotive functionality. Features The front and rear fenders and the sculpted body sides use a unique combination of straight lines and organic curves to provide a blend of muscularity and vitality. The bold front chrome grill with a pronounced 'H' mark, elegant 16" alloy wheels (with tubeless tyres for better maneuverability), chrome pull-out door handles and sporty and aerodynamic side rear-view mirrors enhance the styling further. The broad rear bumper and the perfectly chiseled trunk lid provide an equally sporty and aggressive look in the rear. The car's dual-tone interiors, in shades of light ivory and black, and the extra touch of premium wood grain style, with classy woody panels even in steering wheel provide an expensive look to the car. The unique dual-zone climate control system allows individual temperature setting for the front passengers. Other features include an LED instrument panel a state-of-the-art -dash 6-CD changer. In order to enhance the overall luxurious experience of the new Accord, the doors of the car have been specially designed to close with minimal noise and ideal for a world-class global sedan. The car has leather front and rear seats with a cushion design, which is supposed to reduce driver fatigue, and also help in posture-perfect healthy seating. The tilt and telescopic steering wheel is leather-wrapped and has a woody grip which makes the car fun to drive. The control buttons including those for the audio system, are ergonomically located on the steering wheel, for ease of control. Other convenience features in the Accord V6 include a headlamp adjuster, headlamps with auto-off function, newly designed front and rear cup holders, interior lighting and retractable assist grips for all passengers, among others. The 3.0 litre engine of the Accord V6 incorporates the advanced VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) System which combines to give high performance and low fuel consumption by combining two different combustion environments. Another factor which contributes to Accord's new ride and handling balance is its front double-wishbone suspension, which imparts a sophisticated overall character to the car, enhancing body control under acceleration/ deceleration, high and low cornering loads and in transient maneuvers as well as improving stability in cornering. The subframe-mounted 5-link double wishbone rear suspension is also designed to provide superior comfort and ride, exceptional ride compliance and good space efficiency. The company also claims that the car is extremely stable and safe with its traction control system (TCS) being standard equipment. There is also a choice of switching the TCS off or keeping it on. Other safety features including dual-stage smart SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger; Anti-lock braking system; seat belt pretensioners and load limiters; the 'G Force' control technology, makes the interior of the car a 'crush-proof survival zone'.
