Lenovo debuts IdeaPad Y710 17-inch notebook

Mumbai: Lenovo has launched the IdeaPad Y710 notebook PC in the Indian market.

A multimedia powerhouse, the IdeaPad Y710 is equipped with a 17-inch monitor, and can be ideally used as a desktop replacement that delivers an exciting multimedia and gaming experience.

Amar Babu, managing director of Lenovo India, said, ''There is significant excitement globally for this product given its top notch specs. The IdeaPad Y710 will revolutionalise the market with its hot-swappable twin 160 GB hard drive that gives the user 320 GB of storage space. With the option of a dedicated Game Zone keyboard for gamers, the IdeaPad Y710 is definitely a multimedia powerhouse!''
 
The IdeaPad Y710 is part of the consumer PC range from Lenovo, which is a consumer-oriented line engineered with trendsetting designs that make bold design statements with their frameless screens, touch-sensitive control surfaces and unique textures. The notebook features face recognition, Dolby Home theatre surround sound and dedicated gaming controls. These entertainment oriented consumer range also comes with features such as One Key Recovery, outstanding durability, and an extended battery management feature to customize user-specific battery usage patterns.

This is the first notebook from Lenovo that has a 17-inch monitor with a resolution of 1440x900, and a ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 graphics processor with 512MB of memory. Wireless LAN connectivity, Dolby Home Theatre system as well as an optional Blu-ray DVD reader makes the IdeaPad Y710 notebook ideal for the entertainment enthusiast.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 has a hard drive of up to 320GB with a speed of 5400rpm that also houses a second, hot swap hard drive. Lenovo for the first time has introduced RAID function in the IdeaPad Y710, which simultaneously uses both hard drives for superior input/output performance and data reliability. It also maintains mirror copies of the data on different drives to ensure data security. The IdeaPad Y710 is priced between Rs45,000 and Rs85,000, and is available at all Lenovo authorised storefronts.

A few of the models of the Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 come with Game Zone functionality, including enlarged directional buttons for enhanced game play, four user-customisable buttons and a secondary display showing system information such as CPU speed.
