Maruti Suzuki India Ltd will invest more than Rs1,000 crore to build its first India-specific research and development centre, spread over 700 acres at Rohtak in Haryana, research and development centre in the country, according to reports.

An agreement to develop the new centre is to be signed between Maruti and the Haryana government on 21 August, when chief minister Bhupender Singh Hooda will formally hand over the land. However, a company spokesperson declined to comment on the size of the investment.
