Microsoft launches new trainee programme in India

Designed to bridge the gap between the academic and corporate world for students interested in pursuing a career in technical resolution, this new program offers in-depth technical training, mentoring, and on the job experience based out of the Microsoft Global Technical Support Center (GTSC) in Bangalore, which houses Microsoft R&D India Private Limited. The site is a part of the global Customer Service and Support (CSS) organisation with locations throughout the Americas, Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific and Greater China.

The GTSC trainee programme serves as a pipeline for the global MACH (Microsoft Academy for College Hires) programme. MACH has been created within the sales, marketing and services group at Microsoft to accelerate career development for talented college hires around the world.

"We are pleased to announce the roll out of our Trainee Programme for 2005 in Bangalore," said Manish Sinha, managing director of the Asia-Pacific customer service and support organisation at Microsoft. "India has always been an integral part of the global technical movement and this program gives students in the region the resources and tools they need to scale their skills and gain real-world experience."

Candidates are selected for the programme after an extensive testing and technical evaluation phase. Once enrolled, students become a part of the Microsoft GTSC as a trainee engineer, interacting alongside the technical support engineers and gain deeper technical knowledge and broader understanding across multiple technical environments.

In order to make the program test accessible to a larger group, the programme has been rolled out nation wide working with placement cells of colleges and allowing online registrations.
