Monsterindia spreads its wings to Chennai

Mumbai: Monster, the leading global online careers site and the flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc, has opened a new office in Chennai.

The Hyderabad-based Monsterindia Pvt Ltd already has sales offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. This new move by Monsterindia is a reflection of its commitment to the Indian market.

Chennai is an excellent market for our business with a well-established software industry as well as large manufacturing organisations. With an upsurge in the recruitment activity across all segments, we believe that the timing is perfect, says Monsterindia country manager Arun Tadanki.

Monsterindia is clearly emerging as the leader in the online careers space, providing a quality experience to both employers and jobseekers. In June 2002, traffic grew by more than 100 per cent compared to three months ago, touching a new high of 550,000 unique visitors. The resume database is also growing rapidly with more than 280,000 resumes from India.

We are also pleased to see a good growth in the acquisition of new clients. During April-June 2002, we signed up 140 new clients, which represents a 60-per cent growth compared to the previous quarter, says Tadanki. We believe this increase in hiring activity across sections of industry indicates that the recruitment industry is on a comeback trail.

Monster India Pvt Ltd (www.monsterindia.com) is the 15th member of the Monster global network of 22 countries and a joint venture between Monster the worlds No 1 career management network and ecorp Ltd, an Australia-based Internet investment company.
