NIIT to set up training centres in China's Wuxi province

NIIT Ltd and the provincial government of Wuxi in China, will work closely to train talent for emerging IT industry. NIIT has been involved for nearly a decade in IT training in China for its IT services industry and says it has training arrangements with 129 universities and colleges in China.

As part of their agreement, the Indian company will set up IT training centres to run training programmes and the Wuxi government will provide necessary support for enabling preferential policies at national, provincial and municipal levels.

Recently NIIT had signed another MoU with the Wuxi New District in Mumbai recently, with similar plans for the district.

NIIT's G Raghavan, president, individual learning solutions, NIIT, and Yang Weize, party general secretary, Wuxi China signed a memorandum of understanding this morning at Bangalore during the Wuxi - Bangalore business seminar on service cooperation. A delegation of business leaders and government officials from Wuxi, are currently in India to develop linkages with Indian IT firms.

"Our tie-up with Wuxi government is a significant enhancement of NIIT's decade long commitment to develop IT talent in the fast growing Chinese market," said Raghavan.

"It is indeed an acknowledgement of NIIT's global experience and its applicability in China and the field of IT talent development."

The company expects the IT training market in China to grow at 24 per cent CAGR (compound annual growth rate), in the next two years with an expected 5 million software engineers to be trained by 2015.
 
An online and mobile phone survey by popular website in China QQ.Com + rated NIIT as "the most influential training organisation". The IT firm has been recognised for offering the "best placement oriented curriculum design" in Chinese colleges and universities.

For the quarter ending December 31, 2007, NIIT, posted PAT of Rs13.9 crore ( growth of 30 per cent YoY) on a revenue of Rs. 238.8 crore. 

For the nine months ended December 31, 2007, net revenue irose 36 per cent, and PAT by 26 per cent, demonstrating strong performance for the year.
