Nalco Q4 net profit up five-fold to Rs391.48 crore

State-run National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) said its net profit shot about five-fold to Rs391.48 crore during the fourth quarter ended 31 March, 2010, against Rs83.02 crore in the same quarter ended March 2009.

Naclo said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange that its total income rose to Rs1,625.97 crore during January-March quarter of 2010 from Rs1,125.66 crore during the same period previous fiscal.

For the year ended 31 March, 2010, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 832.60 crore, down 34.55 per cent over the same year-ago period.

Total income in the quarter rose from Rs3010.10 million for the quarter ended 31 March, 2009 to Rs11915.30 million for the quarter ended 31 March, 2010.
