Samsung launches MP3 player, P3 in India news

Samsung, the world's largest electronics company, launched its 3-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD touch screen portable multimedia player, P3 in the Indian market after unveiling and launching it in Taiwan last month.

Launched in India by Samsung India, the new MP3 player features a 3-inch WQVGA-resolution 16:9 TFT-LCD touch screen, 2.1+EDR Bluetooth technology and weighing 96 grams.

Armed with a revolutionary EmoTure interface, it has a true haptic feedback and forward-thinking design, the Samsung P3 makes MP3 multitasking simple even for the most demanding consumers.

"Whether it's the P3's sharp and bright 3-inch touch screen for video and photos or the advanced user interface, consumers will be guaranteed a more personal entertainment experience,'' said R Zutshi , deputy managing irector, Samsung India.

With an impressive 3-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD touch screen, the P3 will allow users to view widescreen video and photos at a 16:9 aspect ratio without the need for letterboxing.

All commands, from swiping a finger across the screen, to switching audio tracks, to holding down a digital button for fast-forwarding video, the P3 reacts with a variety of physical sensations for a more intimate user experience versus other media players.

Also, the new Music Hot Touch Key, located just below the touch screen, allows users to instantly access their preferred music features and selections without needing to cycle through multiple menus.

To listening pleasure in the most natural and full-bodied sound possible, the P3 incorporates Samsung's updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology as the DNSe gives sound quality that accurately matches the tone and feel originally intended by the audio producer and others can also hear the music the integrated speakers.

Although just 0.39 inches thin, the P3 has a 16:9 widescreen video player, studio-quality audio player, ultra-portable photo album, personal voice recorder, FM radio, and even a portable storage drive into one compact device.

The P3 can also be paired with a Bluetooth-enabled phone, allowing owners to use the built-in microphone to answer calls directly through the player.

Reinforced in die-cast metal casing, the P3 is available in matte black and matte silver finishes, the player's housing is built to combat the fingerprints and scratching, which typically mar most of the portable electronic devices in the market today.

The P3 is available with 8GB and 16GB storage capacities, and is priced at Rs11,900 and Rs14,900 respectively.
