Sun Pharma announces US FDA approval for generic Flomax

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. today said that it has been granted US FDA approval for the launch in the US markets of its abbreviated new drug application for a generic version of Astellas's Flomax, tamsulosin capsules.

These tamsulosin hydrochloride capsules, 0.4mg are therapeutically equivalent to Flomax capsules0.4 mg from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Tamsulosin hydrochloride capsules are indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Flomax is a registered trademark of Astellas Pharma Inc.
