Mumbai: Satyam Computer Services Limited (NYSE:SAY), today announced the launch of its 'enterprise services architecture' (ESA) service offering as part of its SAP practice. ESA is SAP's blueprint for services-oriented architecture and is powered by SAP NetWeaver a trademark registered, comprehensive open integration and application platform from SAP.

Enterprise services architecture enables organisations to be innovative, flexible and agile in adapting to the changes in the market by increasing the focus on business processes and building adaptability. This service offering would help Satyam's SAP customers adapt to change, improve their competitive edge and at the same time leverage IT investments.

A large percentage of the current (nearly 25,000) and future customers of SAP are expected to adopt SAP NetWeaver / ESA over the next few years.

"Our partners have been looking for a practical approach to transforming IT infrastructures into powerful enablers of business agility and change, and ESA is the answer. Satyam has been one of our key partners for NetWeaver ramp-up activities globally," said Simon Dale, vice president, SAP NetWeaver/BPP, SAP Asia-Pacific.

In an effort to strengthen its offshore leadership in SAP, Satyam had established a SAP NetWeaver Centre of Excellence (CoE) last year and has already created a specialised team of SAP NetWeaver-trained consultants, which it hopes to expand on in the coming months. It has already successfully undertaken various SAP NetWeaver engagements in sectors such as Telecom, Banking, Hi-Tech and Retail. Incidentally, Satyam's SAP NetWeaver practice is credited with the success of being the first to take a global customer onto the NetWeaver - 04 platform.

Manish Mehta, director and senior vice president- SAP, ADMS, Satyam said, "Enterprises need to take a new approach allowing flexibility and adaptability in the way their businesses are run. We believe that SAP ESA is the future for enabling such an approach. Our ESA offerings, will help SAP customers reap significant benefits from both their existing and future IT investments. This will also further strengthen our partnership with SAP AG."
