Chennai: Satyam Infoway has launched ExpressMeet, a multimedia web-conferencing solution. Says Satyam Infoway manager (sales enterprise services) P Ravi Menon: "With ExpressMeet, corporates can conduct a real-time, interactive meeting using a simple Internet connection that has far more advantages of normal Net meeting facilities offered on leading portals."

According to him, web-conferencing is fast replacing the c ostly time-consuming business travel and infrastructure intensive video-conferencing. "Web conferencing is far more economical. For instance, an hour-long meeting involving four people from different locations over ExpressMeet will cost just Rs 500 as against Rs 800 for a tele-conferencing, Rs 12,000 for traditional video-conferencing and at least Rs 80,000 for a physical meeting involving air travel, boarding and lodging for three executives."
