Sun, Infosys global tie-up for bank computing

New Delhi: Sun Microsystems and Infosys Technologies have announced a global strategic alliance to jointly market new generation technology solutions for meeting computing requirements for the banking industry.

By combining forces, Sun and Infosys aim to offer banking customer an agile, scalable, proven solution that lowers total cost of ownership and accelerates time to market.

Through this alliance with Infosys, were positioned to meet the banking industrys challenging needs with open highly-scalable and feature-rich solutions that can expertly handle todays robust networked applications, says Sutart Wells, senior vice-president (market development), Sun Microsystems.

Commenting on the alliance, Girish G Vaidya, senior vice-president and head (banking unit), Infosys Technologies, says: The alliance with Sun will enable us to seize leadership and market share through a superior technology platform developed to handle the challenges of new age banking.
