TVS Motor feels this would help cement customer loyalty and ensure a trouble free, stronger and deeper relationship with its customers as it would reduce the customers'' worries over maintenance cost.

Under the five-year warranty, all customers buying a TVS StaR are entitled to a two-year warranty / 30,000km warranty, in addition to which, they can also buy an additional three years warranty by paying Rs599 taking the warranty term to five years.

The option of opting for the additional warranty is also available to all existing owners of a TVS StaR so long as their vehicles are within the two-year warranty bracket

The five-year warranty can also be transferred at the time of the first sale of TVS StaR to a new owner if it is sold during the warranty period

The company has also announced the launch of its own engine oil formulation, TVS TRU4 engine oil specifically for 4-stroke two-wheeler engines, making it the first vehicle manufacturer in India to develop engine oil with its own formulation.

It has tied up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) for blending, bottling and distribution of the product.

To prevent adulteration of the product, the company has introduced a unique providing an instant check for genuineness. On purchase of the oil pack, the customer can SMS the unique number printed on the pack to get an instant confirmation of its genuineness. In case the product has been duplicated a return SMS reply is sent to the buyer warning, "Sorry. Original oil already used".
