SinFin Solar Power launches cheaper, solar powered air-conditioner

SinFin Solar Power has come out with a solar-powered air-conditioner that is designed to run on alternative energy sources and also helps save and reduce grid electricity demand. The 1.5 tonne capacity AC can save up to 80 per cent electricity bill, according to the company.
It automatically adjusts its capacity based on the requirement of the room cooling, so that it takes very low wattage and saves electricity consumption in comparison to other ACs.
Since it is designed to work on both solar power and electricity grid, it can reduce grid power consumption by up to 100 per cent.
This solar air conditioner works like any conventional air conditioner. The two major differences are that existing ACs use only electricity grid and also consumes high wattage while solar AC is designed in such a way that it uses very low wattage.
“Solar air conditioner” has three options – Solar power, Battery bank and Electricity grid. Solar AC uses the MGM technology for its compressor, which works like an accelerator in a car. When compressor needs more power, it gives it more power. When it needs less power, it gives less power. With this technology, the compressor is always on, but draws less power or more power depending on the temperature of the incoming air and the level set in the thermostat. The speed and power of the compressor is adjusted appropriately. This technology is currently available only in split air conditioner.
Solar AC is a very effective solution for those locations where climate is hot and humid and grid based electricity is scarce and unreliable due to frequent power cuts. Solar AC is designed to address these problems.
Solar AC is very environment friendly as it reduces grid power consumption by up to 100 per cent and hence reduces the pressure on grid power, which is generated by fossil fuel.
