The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising its National Retail Summit on 12 January 2010 at Hyatt Regency in Mumbai.
The summit will focus on "Modern retail: towards sustainable growth and profitability".
The CII National retail Summit aims to address many issues facing Indian retail industry. The Indian retail industry has been working on a comprehensive retail policy for the government in order to boost modern retailing and propagate consumption and growth of the economy. Besides this, there are several other issues, which if addressed, could help realise the full potential of the sector.
The summit will focus on these retailing challenges and creating a model that is sustainable, through better value creation for consumers.
This entails collaboration between manufacturers, brands and retailers for better value offers, among retailers for infrastructure creation and between retailers and real estate developers.
Some of the key areas that the summit will focus on are 'Understanding the Indian consumer, generating creative wealth through retailing models, challenges in funding retail, leveraging technology, and creating unique customer experiences'.
The summit will conclude with a CEO's power session on Retailing 2012.
