New refineries

At the end of the financial year ending March 2002, a total of 48 million tonnes per annum will be added to India's petroleum refining capacity, or as much as 78 per cent over the existing capacity of 61.5 million tonnes. Of these, 36 million tonnes are being added in the current financial year (1999-2000), of which 27 million tonnes are coming from Reliance Petroleum alone.
