BodhTree Signs ePublishing Deal with Malaysian dailies news

Hyderabad: The city-based Bodhtree Consulting a recognised 'service oriented architecture' (SOA) and web services integration player has signed an ePublishing contract with two leading newspapers of Malaysia namely, TheSun and The Edge Financial Daily.

TheSun and The Edge Financial Daily have become the first two newspapers in Malaysia to ePublish their print editions over the Internet. The two are scheduled to go live shortly.

"The ready-to-deploy solution provided by Bodhtree Consulting will help us gain presence in the internet quickly and effortlessly. The ePaper version of our newspapers will also offer convenience to readers who wish to read the newspaper online. Business wise, the ePaper provides us alternative means of generating revenue through multimedia advertisements and possibly in the near future, other mobile and Internet-related services," said Lim Siang Jin, managing director, TheSun and The Edge Financial Daily.

According to Sanjiv Gupta, CEO, Bodhtree, "Our technology enables not only large but even medium-sized newspapers to realize ROI from their ePaper investment in a very short span. It provides multi revenue-generating options to publishers to increase online subscriptions to international and traveling subscribers and extend innovative, patent-pending advertisement options to their business partners and advertisers." BodhTree won this contract in a multi-bid deal competing with leading global players.

Bodhtree offers its ePublishing Solution in two different business models, in which the publication gets to choose between product deployment vs. service outsourcing options depending on whether they want to process the ePaper themselves or outsource it to Bodhtree. In select cases, Bodhtree also offers a revenue-share model to large newspapers.

Its ePublishing solution is deployed by some of the leading newspapers and magazines of the world such as the Times of Oman, Al Shabiba (Sultanate of Oman), Westender ( Australia ), Hindustan Times, Deccan Chronicle, Andhra Bhoomi, Lokmat, Nava Bharat, Central Chronicle, Hindi Milap, Print & Publishing, Siasat ( India ).

Bodhtree demonstrated the capability of its ePaper publishing solution at the recently held IFRA India 2004 and GITEX Dubai 2004 expos.

Bodhtree Consulting's customers include well-known names in the industry including Fortune and Forbes ranked companies like Hewlett-Packard Dr. Reddy's Labs Ltd.
