Microsoft promotes Windows server system for mid-sized companies news

Mumbai: Microsoft Corporation today announced the launch of a new promotion for mid-sized companies employing between 50 and 250 PCs

The promotion includes an easy-to-deploy solution that provides midsize business IT professionals with simplified infrastructure management, reduced costs and complexity, and improved security. The offering also includes 50 Client Access Licenses (CALs) for Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003.

The promotion offer is at approximately 20 per cent discount on the Microsoft open license prices.

Microsoft has also announced that it is providing new tools, guidance and best practices for mid-size businesses on how to plan and deploy a secure and well managed infrastructure. Tools in the offering include the Microsoft Security Assessment Tool, Microsoft TCO Assessment Tool and the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) 2.0.

Commenting on the promotion, Vaibhav Phadnis, director, server business group, Microsoft India said, "Microsoft understands the unique technology needs of customers in the mid-size business segment. The promotion gives midsize businesses the confidence that their systems are stable and finally allows them to view IT as a strategic investment."
