Aerial Services goes retail news

Chennai: After supplying the global positioning system (GPS) instruments to the armed forces, the Mumbai-based Aerial Services Private Limited is now targeting the retail segment. The company, which is the Indian representative of the US-bhased Garmin Inc has launched city guidance instruments.

With the city map and the street names loaded, the instruments turn into an intra-city address route guide showing the exact point-to-point route required to be taken by a commuter.

The data / map software is supplied by Kalyani Net Ventures Limited, part of the Pune- based Kalyani group. The company does not sell the software alone.

According to Aerial Services director, A M Lalljee, the company is targeting all the vehicle owners of commercial vehicles, cars and even two-vehicles. "The systems could be linked to the vehicle tracking systems used by freight carriers."

Launching the product initially in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chnnai the company plans to expand its distribution network to 38 cities.
