Polaris
Software has launched Collect.NET, a collections and recovery
solution for the financial services sector, based on the
recently launched Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 and Visual
Studio 2005, next generation versions of Microsoft's database
server and developer tools. Collect .NET provides financial
services companies with an all in one solution for improving
collections and enhancing customer relationships.
Collect
.NET enables organisations to collect information on multiple
products and / or services and link together collections
cases for a single customer. Collect .NET also helps collections
agents to make the most intelligent treatment decisions
based on the breadth of a customer's existing relationship
with the organisation.
Polaris
Software Lab is the world's first CMMi (Capability Maturity
Model Integrated) Level 5 Company is among the leading
providers of comprehensive products and solutions in the
BFSI space.
"Our
strategy for growth is three-pronged - increase, speed-to-market
and reduce cost and risk," says Anandhi Krishnan,
assistant vice president, Polaris Software Lab. "We
have seen the developer productivity increase by three
fold when using Visual Studio 2005 Together with SQL Server
2005, it will help us deliver powerful, scalable and affordable
customised solutions quickly to our banking and financial
services customers."
Collect
.NET automates delinquency tracking, follow-up reminders,
and issue escalation. Agents can view a customer's entire
delinquency history; a recent payment made, and promises
broken. The solution can be easily adapted to any collection
strategy and provides modules and capabilities for supervisory
control, resource allocation, and customized incentive
plans.
Microsoft
India's Sheila Gulati, director, developer and platform
evangelism, explains, "Collect.NET combines the capabilities
of the Microsoft platform - Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server
2005 and Windows Server 2003 - with Polaris' experience
and expertise in creating solutions for the financial
services industry. Collect.NET has been through rigorous
benchmarking and is proven as a great solution for banks
and other lending institutions across the country."
Polaris
is a leading ISV in India, and a provider of "smart
legacy modernisation services" to the banking, financial
and insurance industry and this platform move allowed
Polaris to improve developer productivity three-fold along
with creating a cost-effective and highly scalable offering.
Polaris enrolled in the Microsoft Ascend Program for Yukon
and Whidbey in July 2004 and developed Collect.NET as
a part of this technology showpiece programme.
Polaris
says that it had conducted a performance and scalability
testing at Intel Labs Bangalore. With SQL Server 2005,
Polaris can process 2.5-million records and upload an
additional 10-million records within approximately 2.5
hours of downtime. With a normal 2-processor servers for
the database and application server, Collect.NET was able
to handle 200 transactions per minute with less than 70
per cent CPU utilisation and maintain the 2-second page
response time.
Microsoft's
Visual Studio 2005 is a popular development environment
for designing, developing, and testing next-generation
Windows solutions and Web applications and services. SQL
Server 2005 is comprehensive, integrated data management
and analysis software.
