Mumbai: SemIndia, which had announced in November
2005 its intention to set up semiconductor manufacturing
in India, today announced that it would take the first
step by establishing the country's maiden semiconductor
assembly-test-mark-pack (ATMP) plant.
On the occasion, communications and IT minister Dayanidhi
Maran
had announced, "This announcement sets the stage
for long-term innovation, high-quality manufacturing
jobs, and best value products for India's urban and
rural population."
