Mumbai: The India Semiconductor Association
(ISA), which aims to create global awareness of India's
semiconductor abilities and bring it out of the generic
IT umbrella, is organising its first annual two-day vision
summit on February 8 and 9, 2006, in Bangalore.
This
is the first Indian semiconductor industry business
summit aimed at looking into the future of the Indian
semiconductor industry, its growth potential and development.
The principle theme for the summit is 'The triple play
of design, software and manufacturing: a new paradigm
for semiconductors.'
The conference seeks to address business leaders, market
analysts, government officials, investors, human resource
managers, marketing and business development heads,
media and academia. Speakers at the summit include CEOs,
CTOs and global leaders from the industry such as Ted
Vucurevich, Cadence Design Systems Inc.; Ulf Schneider

The
success stories of the semiconductor fabricators in
countries such as Taiwan, Singapore and China will be
showcased as case studies and a panel of venture capitalists
will discuss the evolving business models in this industry.
The
sessions will focus on how the interdependence of the
three processes (design, software and manufacturing)
will bring about fundamental shifts in business models,
technology directions and collaborative strategies in
semiconductors. This theme is especially relevant to
India as the country gears up to bring about paradigm
shift leveraging its competence in software, semiconductor
design and developments in the manufacturing industry.

said, "The summit opens a window to the opportunities
that await India in the global semiconductor industry.
