GITEX launches Thought Leadership Forum

Hyderabad: GITEX, described as the IT shoppers' paradise, is launching the 'AP though leadership forum', in association with Tata Consultancy Services. The forum will transform Gitex into a venue for creating thought leadership that will impact policy and the future of IT industry. It will conduct open panel discussions, represented by the senior professionals from the government, bureaucracy, industry, trade associations, academia, media and subject experts.

The 3-day GITEX will have participation from Nasscom president Kiran Karnik, industry representatives like Srini Raju (iLabs) and Dr Anji Reddy (Dr Reddy Laboratories), bureaucrats like L V Subrahmanyam and Ajay Sawhney as well as corporate leaders like Srinu Kopulu (Microsoft) and Rajesh Nambiar (TCS).

Several leading academics like Prof Venkat Ram Reddy (JNTU), among others will also participate. The 'open house' panel discussions, held on all three days of the GITEX at the sidelines of the expo will be open to public and the media who can ask questions directly from the panelists.

The open house panel discussions will be held from January 12 to January 14, 2005

Speaking about the launch of the AP thought leadership forum, and panel discussions, Dr J C Mohanty said, "This will not only create a unique differentiator for GITEX as an event and create important ideas and suggestions for the government to act upon, but also become a great platform where government, bureaucracy, industry, trade, academia, media and the general public can have a frank and fair debate. The ideas generated will pave the path for a better future."

Speaking about the association of TCS, along with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, in creating the AP thought leadership forum, Rajesh Nambiar, regional manager, TCS Hyderabad, said, "We at TCS are always eager to contribute to the state, and find innovative ways to create leadership in all dimensions, including thought leadership."
