Jet Airways and NTPC win BML Munjal Awards for excellence

New Delhi: Jet Airways from the private sector and NTPC Ltd, from the public sector have been presented the inaugural 'BML Munjal awards for excellence in learning and development tools'. The BML Munjal awards recognise companies that are consistently using training and learning as a source of competitive advantage.

The BML Munjal award acknowledged NTPC and Jet for giving optimum importance to knowledge and training in an environment where people- resources have emerged as a vital differentiator in productivity, performance and competitiveness.

Naresh Goyal, chairman, Jet Airways, and G K Agarwal, executive director, personnel, NTPC Limited, received the awards from civil aviation minister Praful Patel, in New Delhi.

"The objective of these awards is to recognize the role played by learning, training and development in the corporate sectorm - something of vital importance and one which is rarely acknowledged," said Sunil K Munjal, MD, Hero Corporate Service Ltd.. The winners were chosen by an independent jury headed by Deepak Parekh of HDFC, and comprising Shobana Bhartia of Hindustan Times Group, Arun Maira of BCG Consulting, Ajay Sriram of SRF, Dr Vinayshil Gautam of IIT Delhi, Tarun Das, chief mentor, CII and Sunil Kant Munjal, chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd,
