The Zune 80GB is Microsoft's reply to the Apple's iPod Classic. It offers users a few more features than the iPod Classic. It comprises a portable audio and video player, sporting a 3.2-inch screen, innovative touch controls, wireless sharing and superior quality headphones.

It can hold up to 20,000 songs, over 25,000 pictures, or over 250 hours of video. The wireless synchronisation with the computer puts it on an upper level, when compared to the iPod Classic. You can even synchronise your Zune with another Zune, which is again a feature not found in any other player.

The Zune has a built in radio that allows you, not only to listen to your own music, but also to music played on various radio stations. The clarity of radio sound is appreciable.
Controls:

The controls of the Zune centre on a round touch-sensitive control, which is very much like the click wheel found on the Apple iPods. The touch controls are the highlight of the Zunes. However, just in case you want to use conventional means of scrolling, you can have your way by clicking the up and the down buttons of the D-pad.

Apart from scrolling, you can even control the volume with the help of the D-pad.

Zune allows the user to import unprotected video streams. Formats like WMV, MPG4 and H.264 can be added to the Zune. Recorded TV shows or movies can also be imported and synced in to your player.

The only point where the Zune lags behind the iPod is that you do not have the facility to play games on Zune. However, there have been reports, which say that playing games will be possible by June 2008.

Though there are many added features in the Zune, it is priced at a level similar to the iPod.
