Sun TV has denied rumours of chief executive officer Ajay Vidyasagar quitting the company, which have been making the rounds in media circles.
It is being reported that Tony D'Silva has taken over Vidyasagar's mandate at the company. D'Silva, reportedly, has been appointed the Group CEO and has been handed over the responsibilities of all Sun businesses, including DTH, movies, print, television and aviation (SpiceJet).
He currently handles Sun18 Media Services South Company, the distribution alliance between Sun Network and Network18.
IANS reported, quoting a company official, that Vidyasagar was on leave and the company had not received any resignation letter from him. ''He is expected to join back soon,'' the official said.
He said the company was aware of the rumours, adding that any such development will be promptly notified to the stock exchanges.
Vidyasagar joined the Sun TV Network in June 2009. Prior to Sun TV, he was president, content and new media at Star India, where he worked for 14 years.
Sun TV Network's bouquet of 20 channels reach of more than 95 million households in India. Its channels are available in 27 countries including USA, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, Srilanka, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
