Azim Premji's son to join Wipro

Rishad Premji, son of Wipro chairman and majority owner Azim Premji, will join the company. A communiqué issued by the company today said, "Rishad Premji is going to join Wipro at a level commensurate with his background and experience."

Rishad Premji currently works with a global consultancy firm in Europe.

The statement said that since Rishad Premji was a relative of a director, his employment with Wipro would require shareholder approval.

Azim Premji owns an 80-per cent stake in New York-listed Wipro, which has a market capitalisation of around $20 billion.
