Nestle appoints Nandu Nandkishore as executive vice president

FMCG major, Nestle has appointed India-born Nandu Nandkishore as the executive vice-president for Asia, Oceania, Africa and the Middle East.
Nandkishore, 52, will succeed company veteran Frits van Dijk on 1 October when the later retires, Nestle said on Friday. Dijk has been associated with the Swiss company for 41 years.
Currently the deputy executive vice-president and head of Nestle's nutrition unit, Nandkishore joined Nestle in India in 1989 and began his international career from 1996.
His present role at the company will be handled by Kurt Schmidt, who heads infant nutrition in North America.
''Nandkishore has acquired extensive practical business experience in the global context over his past 22 years with the group,'' Nestle SA said in a statement.
He is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and an electrical engineering graduate from IIT Delhi.
Nestle on Friday also reported better-than-expected first quarter sales of 20.3 billion Swiss francs, driven by a 12 per cent sales increase in emerging markets.
The company said sales in Africa and Asia, which includes India, did well during the period under review.
