The luxurious A6 sedan for the Indian market is now locally assembled at Aurangabad in Maharashtra, and is available to order at the exclusive Audi dealerships in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
The first A6 models will be delivered to customers in December 2007.
The Audi A6 is the most successful C-segment model globally, and is aiming at a dominant leadership position in India through outstanding driving dynamics and high technology, superior comfort and a wide range of high-grade equipment now exclusively assembled in India.
The locally produced Audi A6 comes with a choice of two new powerful engines: the 2.8 FSI V6 and the 2.7 TDI V6. In addition to FSI direct injection, the 2.8 FSI V6 engine incorporates a fundamental innovation in the form of the Audi valve lift system, which enables variable control of the valve lift, translating into a significant fuel saving at partial throttle.
To power the vehicle, four direct-injection engines are available, two petrol and two diesel.
These are the 3.2 FSI developing 188 kW (255 bhp), the 2.8 FSI (154 kW/210 bhp), and the diesel V6 TDI units with displacements of 2.7 (132kW / 180 bhp), and the latest version of the incredibly powerful 3.0, developing 171 kW (233 bhp). Each of these engines have a level of superior output and torque in their respective segment.
