DuPont to launch building innovations in India

Mumbai: DuPont India, Indian subsidiary of E I du Pont de Nemours and Company of the US, has announced the launch of its new business initiative in India – DuPont Building Innovations.
DuPont India, under the new initiative, will offer building solutions, products and innovations for the Indian construction industry, said DuPont India executive director Jagdish Kumar.
"Following our global strategy of 'Go where the growth is' and 'Putting science to work' by using 'Power of One DuPont,' we have identified the building and construction segment in India as a key sector that will drive our company's strategic growth in this country,'' he said at Interbuild India 2006 conference and exhibition.
DuPont Building Innovations will bring into the country products that are suited to Indian construction methods and weather conditions. DuPont would offer products that provide safer, durable insulation to buildings, enhance the life of concrete and to waterproof water-retaining structures.
Kumar said while more products were in the pipeline, many existing products would come with suitable modifications.
The $27-billion El DuPont de Nemours & Co invests more than $1 billion a year on research and development (R&D) in multiple disciplines and is home to one of the world's largest industrial R&D facilities. It also undertakes collaborative research and licensing of intellectual property with other companies.
