Kinetic launches SYM Flyte; to reposition Kine on electric platform

Mumbai: Kinetic Motor has launched its 125-cc scooter, Kinetic SYM Flyte.
The scooter has features such as instant start, easy front-fuelling, telescopic suspension, central locking, anti-theft magnetic key, mobile phone charging, crash resistant mirrors and huge storage, and is being launched across several centres across India. According to reports, 5,000 units have been sold in the first two months.
Kinetic brand ambassador, film actress Bipasha Basu received the 5000th scooter at the event.
Flyte is the first product launch from Kinetic's collaboration with Taiwan's $1.1-billion SYM.
Speaking at the launch event at Mumbai, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, managing director of Kinetic Motor Company said that the gearless scooter segment has grown by 30 per cent over the last one year, and is slated to increase for 10 years. According to Motwani, ''The segment of urban riding will be dominated by gearless scooters. We aim to increase the monthly sales of Flyte to 8,000 by July.''
Kinetic has launched an aggressive nation-wide promotional campaign, with its primary target being young women including students, professionals and the newly married. The secondary target is older women and boys. According to Motwani, Kinetic's dealers say ''a lot of men also like it.''
