Pune based Kinetic Motor Company Limited, the nation's largest manufacturer of gearless scooters is all set to enter the European markets with its four-stroke scooter, the Kinetic Nova. The Nova has successfully completed all homologation requirements for European countries, and the first few containers will be dispatched to Turkey, Sweden, Czech republic, Greece and UK by end of this month.
According to the company Europe could give a major thrust to Nova exports since it is a large and well-established scooter market. Initially the company intends to focus on Italy, France, Greece, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Spain as well as the East European countries, such as Yugoslavia and the Czech Republic. After Europe, Kinetic intends to place the Nova in the United States followed by Japan, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The Nova has been designed by reputed international design houses and features stylish curved contours with a striking lighting arrangement. With a 115 cc four-stroke engine, it also generates an impressive 7.2 bhp of power. A unique feature of the scooter is a microprocessor chip device called the "mileage maximizer", which guides the user to get the best fuel economy. Nova, not surprisingly, has a mileage expectation of 60 kmpl. The company has developed the Nova, from concept to commercial production, in a record time of 14 months, and at an investment of Rs. 20 crores.
