Bangalore: Lufthansa German Airlines will operate two additional flights between Bangalore and Frankfurt, starting from June 2003.
The airlines currently offers 23 scheduled weekly flights, linking four major Indian cities with Frankfurt, Germany: daily flights to/from New Delhi and Mumbai; six weekly flights to/from Chennai (increased from three to six weekly flights as of 1 April 2003), all with Boeing 747-400 aircraft; and three weekly flights to/from Bangalore with Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
LH 755 from Bangalore to Frankfurt will operate daily except for Thursdays and Saturdays.
With the addition of these two weekly Bangalore-Frankfurt flights under the temporary Open Sky Policy, Lufthansa will therefore offer a total of 25 weekly flights to/from India, providing extra capacity to meet the increasing air traffic demand during the peak season especially to/from South India.
Says Lufthansa general manager (South Asia) Harald Hahn: "We are encouraged by the stable traffic growth between India and Germany, and we are pleased to get the chance to increase the number of flights connecting South India."
Lufthansa will operate A340-300 aircraft with a three-class configuration on this route, offering eight seats in the first class, 42 in the business class and 197 seats in the economy class.
